Solidarity
Solidarity is the counterpart of subsidiarity: the freer a municipality or canton, the more it shares its development with its neighbours.
Subsidiarity without solidarity leads to selfishness; solidarity without subsidiarity leads to dependency.
The Boustany Constitution applies it at every level (Art. 20-bis) and provides federal support for financially weaker cantons (Art. 85).
