Municipal Council
The municipal council is elected by all residents of the municipality, whatever their community, and manages local affairs. It takes over the powers of today’s governors and district heads (Art. 117), and residents can submit its decisions to a popular vote. Its members are citizens of the canton the municipality belongs to (Art. 118).
