1861-1915 Organic Statute

The governance period established by the Règlement Organique (1861–1864), an international convention between the Ottoman Empire and the major European powers that created the Mutasarrifate of Mount Lebanon: an autonomous province ruled by a non-Lebanese Christian governor (mutasarrif) assisted by an elected, multi-sectarian Administrative Council, lasting until the First World War.
