The balance between Lebanon’s communities is a foundation of the federation, which the Boustany Constitution protects from any upheaval.
Any act that creates a demographic imbalance, such as granting citizenship to non-Lebanese populations, would breach the Basic Law (Art. 14).
How this applies in practice remains open to discussion.
